PistonHeads at The Mulburry Inn

As with a lot of things in life it comes down to knowing the right people. A secret meet was organised by Pistonheads for supercars and the like. Numbers were limited not because they wanted to keep out the non-supercar owners but because the location of the meet could only hold about 50 cars comfortably.

I therefore found myself getting up at 4 am in order to catch a train up to London where I could hitch a ride to the main event, which was less than an hours drive from where I live. A big thank you to Andrew in his 355 who let me tag along and to Sy who gave me a lift back in his 348. The London meet point had what most people would class as the stars of the day, 2, yes TWO, Veyrons. There was also a RR drophead, Porsche 911, Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegera, 2 Diablos and a mix of Ferraris. It didnŐt take long before the traffic lights split the pack and most of us made it to the next meeting point where more cars joined in the fun, including an F50. The final meet up point was a service station just off the A3 where the bulk of the cars met up. Adding to the two Bugattis was a Ferrari Enzo, Porsche CGT and Murcialargo. The reaction to people filling up with fuel or getting something to eat was amazing and it was a sight that most of them will remember for a long time. Onwards to the main event.

The meet was being held at a small pub owned by Chris Evans and even though numbers were limited the two Ferrari F40s arrived too late to get in and had to park on the pavement and road, especially as a certain person brought along all three of his Diablos. I have given up trying to put a figure on both the amount of horsepower present and the worth of the cars but suffice to say they both run into large figures.

I can not wait to do it again.
