No Top Gear Live for me this year but an enjoyable show none-the-less.

I was chatting to Jon of Oakley Designs who showed me round both his Ascari and Porsche GT (check out the carbon fibre roll cage and wheels). There was also an Apache helicopter recently returned from active duty dominating one side of the hall and not far away was an Aston Martin DB7. At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that this car had a custom paint job on it. In fact, it was 24ct gold and platinum plated with 7 very discreet diamonds on the bonnet. Up close the individual leaves of gold could be seen through the enamel finish and when firing up the flash the rich depth of the gold could be seen. Owned by Italian prince Francesco Ruspoli, the DB7 was auctioned off at the end of the show. More info can be found on GoldenRooftop.com

There were 2 big show debuts, the Pagini Zonda F Carbon Roadster and the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition. Both these beasts have a carbon fibre body and looked immaculate under the lights. If I had to choose just one, it would be the Zonda with its beautiful yellow leather interior and whole supercar stance. However, in an ideal world I would have them both.
