Another year gone and I am still no closer to owning my own Lamborghini. In fact, this year over the course of the 17 events attended I had rides in more Ferraris than Lamborghinis! Best not tell LCUK about that one.

One of the highlights of the year has to be seeing the ultra rare Aston Martin One 77 press car in London. It was making its public debut on the open roads as part of the FIA GT Supercar Rally and I managed to get some excellent shots of it amongst the tulips. Both Saywell track days had their usual high standard of cars and inclement weather, but then again that is to be expected.

My wife managed to stay out of hospital more than last year which enabled her to attend the annual charity event at Dunsfold Park and all 3 of us had a ride round the track. A tenuous link leads me on to another of the highlights of the year, that being stroking a live tiger or two. This was due to one of the car clubs heavily involved in DDO visiting a big cat sanctuary. Plans are to try and organise a return visit in 2011.

Stephen Winkelmann declined to lend me a Gallardo Super Trofeo for the Cliveden House event but the presence of 2 F50s and a F40 helped soften the blow. The Goodwood Supercar Sunday breakfast club more than lived up to its name, with a very recently acquired McLaren F1 GTR drawing in the crowds. Considering this event is not only closer to me but also better attended I have no real desire to visit the other Super Car Sunday at Gaydon in the near future. Keeping to the Goodwood theme, 2010 saw the inaugural Moving Motor Show take place just before the Festival Of Speed. I really enjoyed it and will be there again in 2011 where I once again plan to attend all 3 days of FOS where this year I got to see my first Lamborghini Reventon, shame their other one was not able to make it too.

Talking of seeing new cars the final meet of the year was at Mercedes Benz World. In their foyer is a Mercedes CLK GTR Roadster. The interior colour could be better but there is no denying the presence this car has. There was also one for sale near me that I have yet to view.

So in summing up, there were less hospital visits and more cars. Long may it continue.
